How to Unsubscribe from Instagram Emails

Instagram sends login alerts, posts you may have missed, follow suggestions, and product updates. Here are the three ways to make it stop, from slowest to fastest.

Sweep all Instagram emails free

Use the unsubscribe link in any Instagram email

Open a recent Instagram email and scroll to the very bottom. Click the small unsubscribe link in the footer, then confirm on the page that opens. In Gmail you can also click the Unsubscribe button next to the sender name at the top of the message.

Good news: Instagram's footer link is dependable and applies to the whole mailing list, not just one campaign.

Senders can take up to 10 business days to process an unsubscribe, so a few more emails may arrive first.

Turn off email in your Instagram settings

In the app, open your profile, tap the menu, then Notifications, then Email notifications. Toggle off Feedback emails, Reminder emails, Product emails, and News emails; leave Security on.

Tip: Security and login emails cannot be disabled, and you should keep them on anyway.

Unsubscribe and delete the old ones in one click

Unsubscribing stops future emails; the hundreds already in your inbox stay. To find every Instagram email you have, paste this into Gmail's search bar:

Then tick the select-all checkbox, click "Select all conversations that match this search", and delete.
