How to Unsubscribe from LinkedIn Emails

LinkedIn sends connection invitations, job alerts, news and article digests, profile view nudges, and InMail notifications. Here are the three ways to make it stop, from slowest to fastest.

1

Use the unsubscribe link in any LinkedIn email

Open a recent LinkedIn email and scroll to the very bottom. Click the small unsubscribe link in the footer, then confirm on the page that opens. In Gmail you can also click the Unsubscribe button next to the sender name at the top of the message.

Heads up: LinkedIn's footer link tends to unsubscribe you from one email type at a time, so mail from other categories keeps coming. Method 2 switches everything off at once.

Senders can take up to 10 business days to process an unsubscribe, so a few more emails may arrive first.

2

Turn off email in your LinkedIn settings

Open Settings & Privacy, choose Communications, then Email. LinkedIn splits email into dozens of toggles grouped by category; turn off whole categories like Jobs, News, and Invitations instead of hunting individual switches.

Tip: The unsubscribe link in a LinkedIn email usually stops only that one email type. The settings page is the only place to silence everything at once.
3

Unsubscribe and delete the old ones in one click

Unsubscribing stops future emails; the hundreds already in your inbox stay. To find every LinkedIn email you have, paste this into Gmail's search bar:

from:(linkedin.com)

Then tick the select-all checkbox, click "Select all conversations that match this search", and delete. Or skip the manual work: Sweeper Email shows LinkedIn as a single row with a count, and one click unsubscribes and sweeps every email at once. Scanning is free and deleted mail sits in Trash for 30 days.

Common questions

Why am I still getting LinkedIn emails after unsubscribing?

Senders can legally take up to 10 business days to process an unsubscribe, and LinkedIn sends several distinct email types that may be subscribed separately. Use the LinkedIn settings described above to switch off every category at once.

How do I delete all my old LinkedIn emails?

Unsubscribing only stops future mail. In Gmail, search from:(linkedin.com), click Select all, then Delete. Or connect Sweeper Email and sweep every LinkedIn email in one click; deleted mail sits in Trash for 30 days in case you change your mind.

Can I stop LinkedIn emails without deleting my account?

Yes. Turning off marketing email in the settings keeps your LinkedIn account fully active; only the promotional mail stops. Account, security, and receipt emails continue.
